What a Good Day!

So Tuesday was awesome! Brand new Randy Rogers Band and William Clark Green albums both released in one day?! I knew these were both slated to come out at the end of April, but this month totally got away from me so it was almost a total surprise first when I realized Randy's Trouble was out and then later when I heard William Clark Green on the Driving Home Stage playing songs from his new release, Rose Queen.

I know I could have had them instantly on iTunes or Amazon or whatever, and I do use those a lot. But for albums like these, I gotta have those liner notes! Unfortunately, I thought Waterloo Records would have both, but they only had Randy! Where's the love for WCG, Waterloo?

Anyway...

When I was a teenager, I used to spend hours laying on the floor in my room listening to an album front to back, as many times as my family could stand it, learning all the words. (And I was usually singing pretty loud. For some reason, I thought my family couldn't hear me outside my room. The word "warbling" has been used to describe these intimate concerts more frequently than is comfortable for me.)

So Tuesday night was spent laying on the floor in my office, ear buds in, pouring over Randy Rogers liner notes. (For the sake of my marriage, I skipped the warbling.) There are pretty much always a few songs that have to grow on me, but so far, I'm loving "Goodbye Lonely," "If I Had Another Heart" and "Shotgun," plus all the singles. I loved those already.

I guess William Clark Green will have to wait for another night, but maybe that's best. I do need to sleep at some point, after all!

Has anybody already bought/downloaded either of these albums? Which songs are your favorites?!

  1. The term "warbling" used when you were a wee teen was used totally tongue in cheek ... you actually sang like an angel.
