The Phantom of the Free Music Series

Wednesday's weather and music were both cool, the audience was enthusiastic and the band was, well, they were a little mysterious.

Not all the members. Not so much those who opted for no head gear at all, perhaps a subtle sweatband or even a backward baseball cap:

Even a full brim that's shallow enough allows a clear view of our entertainer's face:

(He's singing, not yawning.)

But some musicians for some reason prefer a face shrouded in shadows.

I'm not gonna name any names, but I would not recognize Bleu Edmondson if he walked up and said howdy in Target. I took almost 300 pictures of that boy and in every single one, he's got a Phantom-esque shadow hiding at least half of his face!

"Howdy."

So I said I wouldn't recognize him if he said howdy. This would be a whole different story if he sang even just the one word! His singing voice is quite distinctive.

I bet that's why he wears the hat. He wants that voice to stand on its own. Right, Bleu?
