Awww, Hail!
The first summer I was in Austin, it seemed like it rained every other day. I was working as a tour guide at the Capitol at the time and had to walk three blocks from the garage to the building.
I kinda hated it. The bottoms of my pants were constantly soaked, and my shoes were always squishy. I feel like the squishing had to be distracting to my tourists.
But we haven't had a summer like that since then, so yesterday on what turned out to be a two hour drive home thanks to rain, hail and not being able to see more than a car and a half in front of me, what I was thinking most of the way was something along the lines of, "Amen! Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord!"
Most days I hate traffic, but I was okay with trading an easy drive for some much needed rain yesterday. Plus, with the Eric Raines Show, Randy Rogers and David Allan Coe sang me home. That can make up for a lot.
I did admittedly have to turn it way up (and sing way louder) around Mopac & 360 when the hail started. But my car is ding free, so all's well that ends well, right? Hope y'all can say the same! I didn't see any broken windows or wrecks. I hope it stayed that way!
Enjoy the rain, and I'll see you at Central Texas Speedway tonight for Zane Williams and Aaron Watson! Get ready to cheese it up for the camera, and you might see your pic on The Local this Friday!
