School's out for just about everybody. People are heading out of town (or to town!) for vacations. Backyard bbq's, blow up pools and sno cone runs. Sun burns, mosquito bites and bored kids. These are the things summers are made of.
But as a wedding photographer, I can't help but think about all the folks who will be newly-weds come July, since June is one of the most popular months for weddings.
I love weddings in Texas. I know your shocked that lone star brides and grooms might be proud of their state's character and with more and more frequency are incorporating it into their ceremonies and receptions.
Pride? In a Texan? No...that can't be right!
Nonetheless, you June 2013 wedding guests can (thankfully) expect to hear more "ribs or brisket?" than "chicken or beef?" and you might find yourself watching your loved ones take vows under a Texas pecan instead of a stained glass window.
But if I know engaged couples (and I think I do!) then I think I know that some of y'all are still working on the smaller details, for instance, your first dance song.
Now if you're working so hard to throw a real Texas wedding, doesn't it make sense to twirl around the dance floor for the first time to a song by a Texas musician?
Yes, it does. Good answer!
And since I know you're still looking and all those little details are starting to make your eyes cross, I found a few for you. This playlist is not exhaustive by any means, but I hope it helps and you find something perfect to dance to!
Leave a comment with other suggestions if I've missed one you love! (Especially if it was YOUR first dance song!)
Happy hitching!
Jenni
