You Know What I Think?

I think y'all like Kyle Park. If that's not true then he must have some dirt on y'all, cause you sure did show up for his show on Wednesday night!

Let me re-phrase that. What I meant to say is that you ladies showed up for his show on Wednesday night!

Kyle definitely has some female fans who are willing to brave a cold evening (well, what we Texans call cold) to stand up front and sing along.

Not every artist can boast this kind of following, so for those of you aspiring to such greatness, let's see if we can break it down and figure out Kyle's secret. What is it about Kyle Park that draws the ladies?

One would naturally start one's speculation with "the voice." (Scroll to Wednesday's post for a sample.) This could be what it is. But lots of folks have good voices.

What if we throw in a boyish smile? A voice plus a smile is a slightly more rare combination.

Throw in a "good times" stage presence, and now we're really narrowing it down. You can tell this boy is doing what he loves.

So do you concur? Good voice, boyish smile, stage pr....wait. What?

Stage left, you say?

Awwww yeah! Now we see what it is!!

How could I have missed it? A facial hair style that is both manly (because of the thickness of the side portions) but considerately groomed so that it's not itchy to kiss. What more does a girl need?

This, however, is a bold move that not everyone will benefit from. When emulating Kyle, maybe start with the voice, the smile and the stage presence. If that doesn't work out for you, pull out all the stops and dare your bass player to rock some chops. If he's any kind of friend, he'll only ask to borrow your razor.
