...you can't hear Uncle Lucius playing "Keep the Wolves Away" or "Everybody Got Soul."
A lot of y'all did actually. We were so excited to see everybody there to hear Uncle Lucius and Jason Boland & the Stragglers. Both bands were so great this week, I can totally see why everybody got there early and stayed till the end!
Something that makes me happy is Jason Boland singing "Comal County Blues" and "Pearl Snaps"
live.
I am however a little saddened by the fact that Jason's friends seem to have kicked him out of the Ponytail Club.
He's the only one without one. What's that about? Geez. Some kind of friends!
But as a child of the 80's, I am perhaps most cheered by this photo of Josh Greco, Uncle Lucius drummer:
(Josh is on the right!) Now that's what a drummer is supposed to look like! Josh, if you were trying to make me smile, ya nailed it.
Actually, I smiled a lot this Wednesday night! They just sing so pretty, y'all! Jason Boland has a new album out this week, Dark and Dirty Mile. So if you didn't hear it live, you can at least have your own copy of some of the songs they sang!
Uncle Lucius, of course, has And You Are Me out, and if you bought it at the show (or any of their shows) part of your purchase went to feed hungry families in Central Texas. Good job, you!
