I'm a wedding photographer, y'all. (Look just a little to your right - that's my logo under sponsors! I'm Jenni Roberts Photography.) As such, I have seen many mother/son dances. However, I've only seen three since I found out I was pregnant. And this weekend, I photographed my first one since I found out that we're having our own little boy, at whose wedding I'll someday dance!
I'm not typically a crier, but dangit if that wasn't the sweetest mother/son dance I've ever seen!
They danced and twirled and laughed and sang the whole song together! It makes me feel a little better that I was definitely not the only one crying. (I am a little proud of getting this photo in focus even through tears!)
What does not make me feel better is that the song they sang together beginning to end was "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts!
I guess I wouldn't feel so bad if it hadn't been stuck in my head since then! It might also help if I knew all the words and didn't have to "hmm hmmm" my way through the last part of the chorus. Oh look! Here are the lyrics now:
